By giving to the ISL Annual Fund, you will be helping the school to meet its most immediate needs. The Annual Fund is the most direct way to support the faculty, staff and programs that make ISL unique. As a Type 2 charter school, ISL is funded by an allocation in the Louisiana State Budget. Accordingly, the school is directly affected by recent cuts in the state’s funding. Your donation goes straight into our classrooms, helping us to erase the state funding shortfall of $391,368.

The ISL Endowment Fund was created this year as a means of ensuring ISL’s long-term financial viability. It has been established in conjunction with an extraordinary matching gift from the Richard West Freeman Foundation. After ISL raised $10,000 in endowment pledges, the foundation awarded an additional $5,000. This endowment fund is managed by the Greater New Orleans Foundation, which will distribute 4% of the value of the fund in February each year to be used by the school. The idea is that the endowment will grow over time, so that without ever dipping into the principle, the fund will continue in perpetuity to provide financial stability for the school. If you give $1,000 to this fund, it’s like giving $40 per year to ISL FOREVER!
