Minutes of Meeting

April 30, 2008 
 
 

Principal Melanie Tennyson called the meeting to order at 6:15pm, welcoming current and incoming parents. 

The purpose of the evening’s meeting is to elect officers.  Ballots with the names of those expressing interest were distributed. 

Ms. Tennyson called for nominations from the floor.  Monique Walker nominated John Beaulieu for Vice President, nomination accepted.  There were no further nominations. 

Ms. Tennyson invited the nominees to speak. 

Nominee for President, Peter Schram, spoke to increasing the lines of communication between school & home and encouraging parent involvement of time and money. 

Nominee for Vice-President, John Beaulieu spoke to his experience at ISL. 

Nominee for Recording Secretary, Yoruba Coleman, spoke to accountability. 

Nominee for Vice-President, Andree Simon and Nominee for Correspondence Secretary, Catalian Colbert, were not in attendance. 

Votes were taken and Officers for the 2008-09 School Year are:

      President: Peter Schram (Terralyn, F2)

      Vice-President: John Beaulieu (Tiago, S3 & Sarah, S1)

      Recording Secretary: Yoruba Coleman (Rachel, S4 & Kennedy, S2)

      Correspondence Secretary: Catalian Colbert (ISL Receptionist) 

Additional discussion ensued regarding the Treasurer position, which will be filled by the ISL Family Liaison, a staff hire.  Bill McDade suggested that an ad-hoc Financial Committee be formed. 

Meeting adjourned at 7:00pm.
